Celebrating Dog Halloween 2019
Alright, so Dog Halloween is a newer tradition in our household. I spent my entire adult life avoiding costumes for my dogs because I swore I wasn’t “that person.”
Turns out — I am. And yeah, I’m not doing this for them. I’m doing it for me. Sorry, not sorry.
Last year, we got a couple of simple hats for our dogs and decided to spend weeks working on getting them to wear them. Donnie (our Italian greyhound) was easy — if you have food, she’ll do just about anything. Dylan (our pit/lab mix) on the other hand…let’s just say he was feeling pretty certain the hat was gonna result in something really bad. So, we took our time and by Halloween, he was a lumberjack and Donnie was an aviator. I have zero regrets.
So, when this year rolled around, we knew we needed to start looking for appropriate costumes. With Donnie not feeling so well, we decided to take some early Dog Halloween pictures…with tons of treats involved. Please enjoy my sweet, sometimes awkward puppies — Donnie (14 year old Italian greyhound) as a unicorn and Dylan (4 year old pit/lab mix) as a clown. Happy Halloween!
